Shows heart rate rhythm… oxygen rate… and heart rate itself as well.. takes 2 AAA batteries included and has a lanyard if you want that on it also… easily fits in a shirt or pants pocket though also! Very useful tool if you are tracking heart rate and/or oxygen levels… the rhythm lets you know it is accurate or what is actually making it to the finger you are clipping this too.. don’t think it would work right on other appendages but works well on a finger or thumb here. Would definitely buy again! Easy to read numbers help us track oxygen rate and verify with heart rate in the night too!

Being a Respiratory Therapist I’ve used many a pulse oximeter in my career and I was replacing one for my personal use but didn’t want to pay a fortune. When I saw the price on this one, I couldn’t resist buying it because the price was so low but I was pretty sure it was going to be a big let down. Wow, was I surprised… it works great and even comes with a protective gel case, batteries and even a lanyard. This was a steal for the price, I am very happy and bragging to my friends about this purchase.

Following two heart attacks, this is a useful device for me to know what my heart rate is doing when I am out exercising. When using it for the first time, I thought the battery needed charging as there seemed to be no result to read on the screen but then realised I may have been looking at it in too strong sunlight. However, I have tried it inside the house, and it appears to be working properly.

When I first received this product, I immediately opened it to use for the first time. I didn’t even need to reference the directions to get it going, and have used it several times since. As a person with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) stemming from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), being able to accurately check my heart rate is invaluable. I have multiple medical appointments a week and have been able to test this product against regulated medical equipment – and it has performed perfectly! I’ve yet to get a reading that is different from what my nurses/doctors have gotten. This product is definitely a good buy at such a low price (less than $15 at the time of posting).

I have Copd and needed this to keep track. I was able to compare my readings at my doctors for comparison since i seen some reviews saying it wasn’t accurate. Well the doctors and mine came out the same. Im very happy with this product.

I use this for work in a busy ER. It’s very handy and oviously portable. Only issue I have is the display can’t be read easily as it is “upside down” when in use.

I have watched Oximeters develop through the years. I worked as a Respiratory Therapist from the 70’s. The only way to tell what was going on was draw blood from an artery. Then BIG Oximeter machines came out in which saved a lot of arterial breakdown!! They also cost an amazing amount of money. They then became hand held which we thought was magic. Still big and $2000. A budget buster to any department. Now this. Anyone can afford this. It can slip into your pocket.
Why do you want one? If you have any respiratory issues, you get use to breathing bad and hardly notice. If you do notice you have issues, you are probably in a bad way! With this, you know where your breathing is at. Guess work and ignoring is over. The longer you let the breathing go the harder it is to bring it back. This is an easy preventive health care.
Google Buteyko Breathing Technique. We often build up too much O2 believe or not. We mouth breath because we don’t breathe well, blowing off too much oxygen. It shows you how to catch your breath back if you have no inhaler handy. Its helpful. It can even help break an attack and bring you back to stable. You have to catch it early before an all on attack. Talking asthma here. COPD just be careful and mindful of what your levels are and do as prescribed. You now have solid numbers to give to your doctor which will tell him what you need to do.
This is too inexpensive to not have handy! Another important tool is a peak flow meter. That will tell the amount of air that goes in and out of your lungs. IMPORTANT. You know when you are shutting down.
FYI Amazon has various inhaler holders with clips you can clip on your belt or purse or backpack. I found having chiropractor adjustments REALLY help.
Do you hate spacers on your inhaler? It sort of feels like you are getting nothing? You actually get MORE of the medication. It seems to line your head up right to receive the medication more direct. More importantly there is a propellent that will drop to the bottom of the inhaler (which is what makes you really shaky when you over use the inhaler) The medication goes to your lungs ‘cleaner’ and more direct, working far more efficiently. I was one who use to throw them away. I learned!!
Also, sugar makes breathing worse. I don’t know why, it does.

It came well packaged with an excellent and comprehensive user and info guide. It looks to be a solid, well made bit of kit and worked perfectly straight out of the box after inserting the included batteries. I would recommend it.

I’m changing my review. I bought 2 of these a few years ago because of their easy to read display….but also I have had the opportunity to compare these to an older, more expensive unit and it was not a all accurate. Neither the pulse or the O2 level was accurate. I gave one away to a friend’s daughter that has POTS and now I’m wishing I hadn’t.

My recommendation is that you shell out a little more and don’t go cheap on this item. It’s everything and misinformation is so misleading.
Sorry but I feel I wasted my money. You don’t wanna scrimp on this item. Don’t be afraid to spend over $20 because it’s so important. Hope this helps folks.

Product does exactly as it describes. Far more accurate than those heartbeat sensors on smart phones these days.

Bought before we were shut inside, delivered on time too. Does exactly it’s job. Good product for people who would be interested in BP and O2 saturation.

What a great little product! It works beyond my expectations. I do have a heart condition unfortunately (and I know this is NOT approved for medical readings), and this device has made my life so much easier. Just put it on your finger, press one button, and wah-la, an accurate reading. And this is truly the most important feature, accuracy. I have used it against medical machines that costs thousands of dollars more to get the same exact heart rate reading (full disclosure I have no idea how accurate O2 measurement is). Battery life is seriously 8-9 hours. Part of my condition, I have wild HR swings, and this device will read in real time and you can watch it go up or down on your finger as you move around if need be. It doesn’t work too well outside in the sun, so really not for outside use, but you can get clever and stick it in your pocket and take a peek to get a reading like I often need to out and about on the go. I am so happy with this purchase. I love this little device!
