After having the scale for about one week it began to show VERY INCONSISTENT repeated weights. I do not know why.

There is a trick to making certain that the scale rests evenly on all 4 feet. If you place the scale on a hard surface, and very gently rock the scale you can tell whether or not all 4 feet are in contact with the floor. In most instances if the floor is not absolutely perfectly flat, you will feel that you can rock the scale very slightly. This could throw off the electronic measurement system that the scale uses.

At that point, begin to rotate the scale about its center, in very small increments. Stop and re-test to see whether or not all 4 feet are in contact with the hard floor surface. At some point during the potential 360° rotation, you will feel all 4 feet being in contact with the floor and it is no longer possible to minutely rock the scale.

At that point make sure the light is out, and stand on the scale once again. You can do this numerous times to test for repeatability.

When I first got the scale I did it three or four times and the weight was always within 1/10 pound.

After about a week of use, I now find that the scale can be inconsistent between sequential weightings (of myself) ± 8 or 9 or even 12 pounds!

In plain English, the electronic repeatability (accuracy) of the scale seems to have DISSIPATED!

The scale looks good, is easy to use, and reports its results in English, metric, and USA units of weight.

BUT IT DOES NOT YIELD REPEATABLY ACCURATE WEIGHTS.

Since that is the purpose of the scale I am changing the review to one star. I would not recommend purchasing this scale. I am very sorry to have to change my review.

    Absolutely perfect..!!!
Forget any bad reviews: if you’ve owned digital scales, you KNOW that you have to weigh yourself at least twice on a hard flat surface to get an accurate reading…
Being overweight, I have owned many digital scales over the years and THIS one was a GREAT buy…!!!

At first look i thought product is fragile by the looks of it but once we tried it it fairly gave us an accurate measurement
My weight is 98.55 so i guess the product is NOT that fragile as i thought by the looks of it

I love this scale. It’s very similar to ones that are twice the price! The only downside I have to mention is that it’s hard to take a photo of the number on the scale. The lighting doesn’t read well in photos. I’ve been documenting my weight loss journey and always try to take a pic for my record. Other than that it’s a fantastic buy!

Best scale I’ve ever bought in my life! It’s crsxy accurate and is a beautiful scale.
It’s a little heavy but I actually like the weight of it.. the digital screen lights up blue soon as you step on it and it digitally reads your weight in about 3 seconds.

Pros- accurate/beautiful digital screen/black in color which doesn’t make the bathroom look bad/reads weight very fast/ shuts off automatically after you step off of it/ keeps your previous weight stored from before.

Cons- It definitely gets pretty smudged after each use but is very easy to clean. I use a mild window cleaner to clean the surface. Sometimes, scales get pretty dirty when they are white. I actually like the black because it seems a lot cleaner.

    Would I recommend: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Pretty Accurate! This is a picture of an 8 pound weight on it and it’s only .1 off, which may even be due to the weight, so it seems to be very accurate. The display is just the right amount of brightness and turns off without anything to weigh, which is a nice feature. It’s super easy to set up, you just pop the batteries in and make sure it’s set to the right unit. I’m not sure how durable this will be, I was worried that it would shatter with all the tempered glass scale reviews I’ve seen, but I’m planning on updating in the future, so we’ll see.

We’ve gone through a few scales, digital AND analog, and this is the FIRST and only one that consistently registers the same result on any given day. No matter how many times you step on it, where you place it on the (hard) floor, it has not wavered … after months of use. The size of the scale and its display are great, no stepping on and off (or kicking it) to get it going, it’s very easy to read, and no voice announcing your weight …. who wants THAT!!??
Congratulations to SmarTake, the seller. Highly recommended.

UPDATE: We’ve used this scale for 18 months and it it still PERFECT!! If I could give TEN stars, I would!!

I have a completely accurate analog scale for reference, which I used to compare against the accuracy of this. I weighed in on the analog scale, 289 pounds on the tick. I weighed in on this one, on a perfectly flat hardwood floor, and it registered 303.6 pounds. 14.6 pounds off! So to make sure I wasn’t crazy, I had a family member do the same. She weighed on the analog – 100.1 pounds. She then weighed on this scale on a hardwood floor – 103 pounds! Then to triple check, I had another family member try – 241.1 pounds on the analog scale. On this scale – 245.3 pounds. This makes absolute no sense and cannot be relied upon. I call BS on this scale.

I weighed in a day later, and it then reported 296 pounds. So, I lost 7.3 pounds in one day? I wish.

As if that wasn’t enough, half the time I step on the scale it doesn’t register or display at all. It’s very true that you get what you pay for. And for $14, you get, well, CRAP. Avoid.

Worst scale ever. Don’t waste your money on this scale. It says one number and then you get right back on it and it’s 6 pounds heavier and then you do it again and it says 6 pounds lighter. Waste of money!
