I bought one of these then 2 months later bought another for my adult son. It’s very accurate, easy to use, and the display is bright-easy to see in the dark-and it has big numbers. Nice that I don’t need my glasses. We’ve had both scales since 2017 and they are still working great. I like how flat they are too, they slide under my dresser when I hide it from company. lol

For those of you who may not know, newer electronic scales like this tend to remember your weight so if you’re in the general range of where you are it just shows you the same thing. So, it’s imprecise. You can work around this by taking the batteries in and out between every time you weigh yourself but it is more work that it should be. I don’t know why companies thing this is something customers want. I know that weight tends to fluctuate in a day, but if you’re trying to lose weight it can be really frustrating. This also means that the medical slider scale I use at work sometimes shows up to a 6 pound difference in my weight. Will probably return this.

This depression piece of equipment has neither Mercy not Remorse. Empathy nor Conscience. Love not Regret. It will take days of heart felt best efforts and reminds how you constantly cheat on your diet. It will haunt your very soul offering to relieve your guilty but will continually betraying your best hopes. It will ever give your spouse ever increasing reasons to give you blander and leaner food. It will replace the once mounds of bacon and douhnuts with carrots and carrots and even more carrots. All with fall before it’s ever growing power and reign and nothing nothing will be able to stop it….

Kids like it though, had a pretty led back light.

The Etekcity bathroom scale is used daily in our home. We love the weight and durability of the scale, and how sleek and stylish it looks. We have only had this scale for a week and the accuracy had been bang on each time. We also love the LED backlight and size of the numbers…no more straining to see our weight. Other scales we have had in the past, did not last very long…maybe a year if we were lucky and not very accurate. Hopefully this scale will last us for a long time. We are happy that we picked this model and would highly recommend the Etekcity Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale to anyone looking for a quality scale.

I dont know what I’m doing wrong, but every time I step on this scale it tells me I’m only 89 lbs. Im 130lbs. I tried every way to fix it, but it wont work right. I definitely do not recommend this scale. Always go with the more original.

This scale was horrible. I wanted to replace my old scale with this cool modern design. I wen’t to test the Elekcity by placing a bag of cat food that weighed 11lbs.The Elekcity was right on the mark at 11lbs and so was my old scale. I went to weigh myself and I was over 2 pounds heavier on the Elekcity than my old scale. I wasn’t weighing myself on carpet either I was on tile. To be fair I moved my old scale in the same place where I weighed myself with the Elekcity. I moved both scales around my bathroom floor in six different places, in the center of the tile so that the scales were on the center of the tile and and not going over the edge touching the grout lines. The scales were on even surfaces in all six places. I did calibrate the Elekcity too. So, after the comparisons of both scales save your money the Elekcity is junk I sent it back the same day I received it. Also the Elekcity showed my weight 10lbs lighter it gave me several different readings. Junk! Junk! Junk!

Received this on Wednesday. It worked for two days, then the display faded lighter and lighter and now it’s Sunday (the 4th day of use, ever), there is no display other than a blue background. Tried new batteries. Tried different surface. Tried everything. Doesn’t work. So, it’s a completely useless paperweight. We are returning it. What a waste.

    Update:
The seller immediately refunded our money and sent us a new scale free of charge. The new scale works great. It looks like the LED crystals were probably damaged in shipping, which isn’t the seller’s fault. Glad to see that this seller cares about the end customer experience at any cost.

This scale constantly gives me different readings. For example: If i put the scale down, let it zero, then get on and weigh myself i can weigh 196.2. Then i pick it up and move it to another area of our wood floor(all flat!) i get 195. I have had up to 4lbs off just by picking it up and moving it a few inches away to get a secondary measure. I cant trust the readings! How do i know which one is right. Disappointed in this product and will be returning it.

I have found that sometimes I have to weigh myself a couple of times to get an accurate read. The first weight is often an error.

The display is large enough to be read although blue background black text is always challenging to someone with near-sightedness, so I have to grab my glasses in order to read, squinting is not good enough.

However, not even 2 years after owning this scale, after I dropped the scale a few inches from above my tile floor once by accident, the scale no longer works. The tempered glass is intact, but not the internal components I guess. I may go back to an analog scale if I can find one…unless there are better digital scales that would survive minor shocks like this.

Purchased it to track my BBG progress. It’s quite accurate. I tested it using water bottles and the measuremt was on point. A year later, it works like day one. It doesn’t eat up battery and the design is sleak and light.

The only shortcoming is the color. While the black looks sleak and fashionable, dust, hair, and what ever falls on top of the scale is showcased 10 folds. As long as you are ok dusting it often, you won’t recret the purchase.

I hope this was helpful! I will update the review if anything changes 🙂

Replaced a more expensive, but much older, electronic scale – and this is by far the better of the two.

First, the scale came a day sooner than I thought it would which was a pleasant surprise.

Second, the scale came in a nice and simple package, with a small reasonably well written manual.

The scale is also nice and simple in design and appears to be far more expensive than it is – its a steal @$20. It feels well made and was thinner than the scale I had before. The glass top is a nice touch and the scale has a classy appearance.

It comes with batteries AND they are standard AAA batteries so replacing them is easier than those small round flat batteries that my old scale had. The read out is backlit blue, which I found a little hard to read and the display is on the small side. But again, if that was part of the compromise to get a lower price, its not an unreasonable one.

Since I had the old scale as a point of reference, this one appears to be quite accurate and measures in .2 pound increments (there is a switch on the underside of the unit to change to Kilograms if you prefer).

Overall, this is an excellent basic scale at a great price. If you don’t need wireless connectivity and other whizz-bang features and just want to know what you weigh, this is the scale to get – inexpensive but looking like it isn’t.

We have been using this Etekcity digital scale for a year now in our our home are very pleased with the scale so far. We had purchased this scale to replace our previous Sunbeam manual , Spring loaded bathroom scale which was horribly inaccurate and deliberated for a considerable amount of time between this scale and the FitBit Aria smart scale . In the end because of the huge price difference and very positive reviews on this scale made us go with this one

    Design, Construction & Build
    ————————————-
    – The scale is feels heavy for its size mainly due to the thick, monolithic glass sheet stepping surface of the scale
    – All our fears or cracked or broken glass due to stepping on it frequently, bumping or dropping it were unfounded in the past year ( we did all of them !) , so its definitely sturdy and well built
    – The two tone black-sliver finish on the scale looks ultra modern and chic
    – The digital readouts are large and backlit in a pleasant not-too-strong blue which is visible both in light and complete darkness. I often check my weight on the scale during midnight bathroom visits.

    Long Term Accuracy
    —————————
    – When we initially purchased this scale i used a 10 lb Rice bag to measure its accuracy and it was always within 0.2 lb of 10 lb with repeated tests, which is very accurate for a digital scale and well suited for measuring body weight
    – Another pointer to the accuracy of this scale is that the weight that we got for our toddler son from his pediatrician using a professional balance scale matches the results we got from this scale

I tried the same accuracy test today after a whole year of use & abuse:
10 lb Basmati Rice Bag : Scale Measured = 10.4 lb
    6lb Dumbbells : Scale Measured = 5.8 lb

As you can see that even after one year the scale is fairly accurate , for all I know it might be 100% accurate as well as I have no way of certifying that the 10lb rice bag or the dumbbells are infact their true stated weights.

    Battery Life
    —————-
    – The scale is still using the two original AAA that came with the package even after a year of frequent, daily use so I’d say its great!

    Cons
    ———-
    – About the only con about this scale is that the glass surface, being glass, needs frequent cleaning as it shows water stains. we usually wipe it with a damp cloth once every week so its not too bad. If you are going worry about keeping it spotless always then you’ll going to have a hard time 🙂

Overall we are very pleased with our purchase and couple of our family friends have also purchased it after seeing it in our home and can highly recommend this scale if your are looking for a good looking , inexpensive and accurate digital scale.
