***By the way, I gave up trying to complete the gift card offer I got in the mail after ”jumping thru hoops” two and a half times. Each time, on the last page, the (required) screenshot upload of the ”Review Submitted” box crashed. It says Refresh the page, which wipes out everything you’ve done. I don’t know if this process is an Amazon thing, but I got angry at the manufacturer, which may be unfair.

I had a 20 year old digital thermometer that needed replacement. I liked the look and favorable write ups of this one. I wasn’t disappointed. It comes in a complete case for protection, unlike others that only have one side that covers the tip. The cap snaps it place and will not come off by accident. It comes with instructions on when to place it to take your temp. It works very quickly and the beep is easy to hear but not loud enough to wake anyone near. It says it can be used in various locations, I have only used it orally. Since I only have this working thermometer, it is difficult to judge its accuracy. However, when I felt horribly feverish, it said 102.4°. When I felt healthy again, it registered 98.6°. That’s good enough for me. Finally, I would buy this thermometer again.

For the price it’s hard to find flaw in this. the temperature is accurate to as close as I can tell with a very hard to read mercury thermometer which is probably 30 years old or better, and trying to be rid of mercury products was the primary reason I decided to get this one. It’s obviously a lot bulkier than the old style mercury thermometer. because of the LCD readout and battery compartment but it is still very light. The flexible tip seems alright but wasn’t a selling point to me since I’ve been used to a glass one for so long, but it does feel more comfortable since it is not so rigid.
PROS:
+ Light weight in the mouth.
+ reading is faster than mercury thermometer.
+ comes with a protective case.
CONS:
– the button feels very mushy. it doesn’t click, and it feels like you have to press it very deeply into the device for it to register. If you have large fingers or thumbs, the button is small enough and set flush enough that you may find it difficult to push the button in all the way to power it on/off

I was still using those old shake-down thermometers but with all the Covid temperature taking requirements, I needed something more user-friendly. I didn’t want to spend the money for a no-contact thermometer and this item had good reviews. I’m glad I got it–I was used to waiting 3 minutes with an uncomfortable stick thermometer in my mouth but the tip on this one is comfortable and beeped in about 10 seconds. I can’t vouch for the accuracy but it was close enough for my purposes.

Ok this has good points and bad points. The good points are easy to read, can switch from F° to C° and has a plastic case to store your themometer. Now, the bad. Very quiet beep. I have a little hearing impairment but not enough to wear any kind of hearing aide. I have tinnitus and the beep is so quiet I have to have it right by my ear to hear. Which is impossible if I’m the one who’s temperture I’m taking and if I’m taking someone elses temp, well that would be extremely awkward. Lol. If it was a little louder I would definitely give this 5 stars. It is functional, convenient and set at a good price. If hearing is no problem for you or if you dont mind not having the beep to let you know its ready then go for it. Update: husband and son say it is loud enough and it is an issue with my ears so to be fair I have changed my rating to 5 stars i have tried the no touch type thermometers and this kind of thermometer. This one is giving me a more accurate reading.

Easy to use. Fast reading. But the thermometer died in less than one month. Battery looks corroded. Changed the battery and still the thermometer is not functioning. Was this used already? Product was used perhaps 7 times before it died.
1/9/2021 Update – Removing 1 more star. Replacement thermometer was defective and did not take temperature measurements. Returning.
