I am most certainly not qualified to judge this device true accuracy. If you want True Accuracy then a rectal thermometer wound be best, but who in their right mind would want that. (laughing smile)
Nevertheless, in my personal opinion this device is an excellent approximation to a true reading. Compare to an oral its mostly pretty good. As I am trying this I will do an experiment after being home for one hour with only underwear on and no fan or AC and at midnight with no breeze coming through the window. I think that it is safe to say that I am at standard room temperature which is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Oral thermometer indicates that my temperature is a standard 98.6. And no I will not compare it to rectal!! (lol) OK hear goes:

Behind left ear with lobe held down = 98.9
Directly in open mouth pass teeth = 98.6
Upper tongue = 99.1

I listen to reviews on another device which people said that it was accurate and good and it truly turned out to be a piece of junk. A REAL piece of JUNK. And Yes, I did the same testing and it indicated that I was DEAD 84 degrees. I don’t want bad mouth a company and/or device just in case I got a defective one. It happens sometimes no matter how good the company is, Right. This is why I am giving this detail personal temperature review so that you can decide. I really like it and use it every day because I work in the medical field which process and test hundreds of Covid19 every day. And I really do mean hundreds.
So, I hope that this detail review was helpful. I think that it is worth getting or should I say that was well worth getting for me. Absolute ZERO complaints. And yes. I testify that my body reading were true and precise.

I got this for my wife and she loves it. It makes taking the temperature for the kids a while lot easier. Rather than getting them tonstay still with the thermometer under the tongue, she can simply scan their forehead. This is quite a stress relief and time saver for her. She didn’t believe it was accurate so she tested the two different ones on me and there was a .1 degree difference which should be plenty accurate in my opinion. Also this comes with batteries so that is a nice touch.
Already looking at getting another one for my parents.

I’m the head coach for a XC ski team and needed a touchless thermometer to do COVID-19 checks before practices. All of the warming huts are closed where we ski, so the thermometer needed to work outdoors in the cold. I ordered several thermometers with excellent reviews hoping that one would be able to give me reliable readings in temperatures below 40 degrees F.
When I tested this termometer indoors, it worked well but consistently gave readings that were about 1/2 degree too low. More concerning was the fact that I would take a temperature at the same location and distance from a person’s forehead five times and get five slightly different readings.
When it came to using the thermometer outdoors in below freezing weather, it was one of the few that would actually work. You have to get really close to the skin with it, but it does work in the cold. However, you can’t simply leave the device on a table or in a backpack out in the cold between uses. When the thermometer gets cold, it won’t work and will only give you ”Error” reading. I keep it in a pocket inside of my coat, which seems to keep it warm enough to avoid this issue.
A nice feature that this thermometer has is a mode to measure surface temperatures (most of these will only read within the range of an expected human temperature). As a bonus, we were able to use it to make sure our wax irons were calibrated properly (an overheated wax iron can damage the base of a ski).

I’m really glad to have this. It’s my new go-to to quickly check temperature. I had a temporal thermometer (slide across far head) but it requires more effort, and it’s fussy for the little one. This point and shoot style is extremely fast, gives you the color coded normal medium high colors and is just so straight forward. Glad batteries came in the box, but wasn’t expecting them. Finish is good quality. There’s a button if you want to do surface readings instead of temperature calculations. temperatures came out nearly identical to existing thermometer. Pleased with purchase and suggesting it to friends.

I kick myself for not buying one of these months ago but they were pricey at the start of the pandemic. I’m high risk and have been using the old school under the tongue thermometer which works but it’s slow and before I allow my grandkids in my home I check their temp. This one really is no touch and it gives the same reading as my other one. It’s accurate. They are finally affordable. This relieves a small bit of my anxiety so it was a great purchase.
